Christopher Rouse, Composer

Berceuse Infinie, Rouse's latest orchestral work — commissioned by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for conductor Marin Alsop — has its world premiere on 30 November 2017, at Meyerhoff Hall in Baltimore, MD. The single-movement work has a duration of approximately 13 minutes, and is dedicated by the composer to Alsop, a champion of Rouse's work for more than two decades.

Symphony No. 5 had its world premiere with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Jaap van Zweden conducting, from 9-11 February 2017. May 2016 saw the Dacapo release of Symphonies 3 and 4, "Odna Zhizn", and "Propsero's Rooms" by the New York Philharmonic under Alan Gilbert; the CD was listed as one of NPR's best recordings of 2016, one of only two in the classical genre.
